Almost every martial arts gym will make you sign a contract.
If you want to learn Judo or Jiu-Jitsu with us we’ll take you on without a contract. That’s a choice we made to help us create the kind of community we want.
We want a mat full of people who want to be there. And we believe that if you train with us we can make sure you enjoy yourself and achieve your goals. We can help you become the best Martial Artist you can be, and we can give you a great community and great workout in the process.
But it’s not just about what kind of community we want at Osagame, it’s also about how we think about the people who come here.
We know people sometimes have complicated lives. Sometimes their jobs take them away for a while, sometimes they get sick, or someone in their family gets sick. We also know that sometimes work just gets hard. So we believe that if, for whatever reason, you need to stop, or go on hiatus, you should have that right. You should be able to take a break and return when you’re ready without worrying your academy will sue you for lost fees.
Let’s be honest — the academy has to make money. We have to pay to keep the lights on, and the heat running. We would also like to replace the mats every several years or so. And yes, it would be nice to make a living doing exactly what we love.
But we’re not just about money. We’re about you joining our fabulous community of folks on the mat. We’re about making it easy to connect up on the mat, learn Judo, learn Jiu Jitsu, have a great time, and a great sweat.
At the end of the day, we want great classes full of happy sweaty people.
